There are still profound distinctions between PC and console gaming, but Here's yet another illustration of how the wall 'tween them is eroding: Crusader Kings 3 is coming to Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5 consoles.
The Crusader Kings games are PC grand scheme epics in which players maneuver medieval families through and through multiple generations of war, intrigue, politics, and wrangle that end with '-cest' and '-cide.' They're mosaics of menus, icons, buttons, and tooltips, which gives them an 'exclusively happening PC' feel. It's just hard to imagine chilling on the couch with a controller patc examining vassal traits and reading story prompts. That's the plan, though.
Crusader Kings 3 will release on consoles with UI and controls "that have been refined to bring that grand strategy experience to a controller," said host Kate Yeager during today's Xbox Gamescom stream.
